3 simple grammar rules in online game

March 17th, 2008

In Malaysia’s online game scenario, grammar is not important. As long as you can communicate with your allies and and they can understand your message, it’s enough. However there are some rules that must be followed.

1)The HE Rule
This rule states that he/his/him/she/her can be simply expressed by ‘he’. Since you can’t distinguish player’s gender in game and the girls percentage is totally small, ’she’ and ‘her’ can be ignored.

Example:
See his items.
see he item

2)The Root Rule
This rule states that any verb must be a root word. No (simple)past(participle)(progressive) tense exist in game.

Example:
He killed me when I was chatting.
he kill me when i chat

3)The -ing Rule
This rule states that ANY noun can be turned to a gerund by adding ‘ing’.

Example:
To kill Roshan->Roshaning
To kill stealing->KSing

JLPT1 resources

To all my fellow friends, if you wish to study/prepare for 1kyuu earlier then here’s a site that worth for a visit:

http://www.tanos.jp/jlpt/jlpt1/

It gives all the necessary resources minus the choukai. Checkout the tango no rokuon, the recorded version of the vocabulary list. It is stated that the audio was recorded by a Japanese native speaker and English native speaker, but it sounds like an Indian to me. :-p

I found this pic when I was looking for references to revive my kanji brainwash project.

I know this might sound lonely. Happy Birthday to myself.

The infamous quote;
私は生きたい、ずっと生きたいです。分かりますか?
