Line Tracing Robot [2]

kuroi kabutoAs I promised before, here’s my line tracing robot, Kuro Kabuto! Gogogo!

It took us a few weeks to finish this robot. Most of the time was spent on repairing circuit and adjusting the body parts. Thanks to Ishimatsu sensei for giving us the programmed IC so we don’t have to spend another few weeks writing it ourselves. My team was lucky to finish on time, majority were left undone. Haha. Sorry, but I have to laugh.

Body Parts

kabuto2

1]Battery:Power source. We put it in front not for decoration, but to make the sensors nearer to ground.

2]Potentiometer:Adjust the sensors sensitivity.

3]LED:To check whether the circuit is OK or not.

4]PIC(Programmable Integrated Circuit):The brain of this robot. Controls everything.

5]Main Switch:Switch on, it moves. Switch off, it sleeps.

6]Transistors:Control electric current to motors.

7]Infrared LED:You can’t see the light unless you’re a snake.

8]Phototransistors:Sense the infrared reflection.

9]Gearbox and motors:Do I need to explain this?

10]WingsWheels:KuroKabuto’s legs
